Rising above the historic port town of Otaru, Tenguyama is famous for its panoramic views across the city, Ishikari Bay, and the Sea of Japan. According to local legend, the mountain is home to the mythical Tengu - Japan's legendary mountain guardian - and visitors can even meet the famous long-nosed Tengu statue, said to bring good fortune when you stroke its nose.
The scenic ropeway to the summit, the Ski Museum, and the mountain's unique history make Tenguyama much more than a ski resort. We offer English ski and snowboard lessons for all ability levels, making it easy to enjoy one of Hokkaido's most distinctive mountains.
