Is a lift pass included?For lessons & guiding bookings, lift passes are not included. They can be bought at YuKiroro guest services, the Mountain Centre or online at https://webstore.kiroro.co.jp/en/

Is equipment included?For lessons and guiding, equipment is not included. We strongly suggest you arrive to your lesson with your equipment ready to go. The closest rentals are at the Mountain Centre: https://webstore.kiroro.co.jp/en/. As part of a private lesson, your instructor can accompany you to rentals and assist with your equipment at the start of your lesson if you wish.

What should I wear?To stay warm and comfortable on the slopes, here's what we recommend: Thermal underwear (we suggest merino wool) Ski trousers and a ski jacket Warm mid-layers like fleeces or jackets Ski gloves or mittens to keep your hands protected & warm A helmet A scarf, buff, or similar to shield your face from the cold Goggles (make sure they fit over your glasses if you wear them) What not to wear: Jeans (inside or outside of your ski trousers) More than one pair of socks Non-waterproof outer clothing Non-waterproof gloves It's especially important for children and older adults to be dressed appropriately to ensure they stay warm and safe throughout the day. By gearing up right, you'll make sure everyone has a more enjoyable and safe experience on the mountain!

Do you do kid's group lessons?We do not currently run kid's group lessons, but hoping to in the future. You can book a private lesson for you children. The minimum ages are 3 for skiing and 7 for snowboarding.

Are there any age restrictions?Yes, for group lessons the minimum age is 13. For ski private lessons the minimum age is 3, and for snowboard it is 7. There is no minimum age for powder guiding & technique; however these lessons are only for people who have a reasonable level of skiing and snowboarding and are confident moving around the mountain.

How many people will be in my group lesson?There will be a maximum of six people in each group lesson.

I need to cancel my ski lesson, do I get a refund?If you cancel 30 days or more in advance of your lesson date, we can issue a refund of 90% of your booking price. If you cancel 14 days or more in advance of your lesson date, we can issue a refund of 50% of your booking price. If you need to cancel at short notice due to health or travel problems, you need to claim this through your insurance. We may be able to help you provide a record of the circumstances for your insurance claim; please get in touch and we will try to help.

Where can I hire telemark equipment for my telemark lesson?There are a number of places to hire telemark equipment in the Niseko area and in Sapporo. Please message us on social media or by chat on this website explaining where you are staying and we will help you find the most convenient telemark rental shop.

What happens if I am the only person that shows up for my group lesson or powder workshop?If only one person shows up, the group lesson or powder workshop becomes a private lesson on a reduced programme of 2 hours from 0930.

Where should I meet my instructor?If you are already on the FAQ page, please scroll down to the Meeting Points section. To access the FAQ page, please click the link below. You can also go onto your booking confirmation email and select 'View My Booking', where you will be able to see details such as the start time and the meeting point.

What is a Powder Guiding & Technique Lessson?Our Powder Guiding & technique Lessons are recommended to those who want to venture off the pistes in Kiroro and into the trees & ungroomed areas. These lessons are for you to hone your skills in deep powder and complex terrain, and to find the best snow in the resort. If you are hoping to go through the gates at Kiroro, we strongly recommend you bring avalanche safety equipment with you. If you are looking for a guide for ski touring, splitboarding or snowshoe-ascent backcountry snowboarding, please get in touch with us directly and we will help to arrange one of our guides or a trusted partner to take you into the backcountry.

Meeting Points
We have two options for meeting points for the lessons.
Group Lessons will always meet at the Mountain Centre.

YuKiroro Terrace​


Your lessons will begin in the flat area outside YuKiroro, for which you won't need a lift pass.
If you are doing a first-timer lesson, you will be begin here and then likely move up to the gondola and family lift later in the lesson.
Anyone more experienced will immediately be taking the gondola up, and you will need the lift pass for this. ​​​​
Mountain Centre​

This meeting point is within the front entrance of the mountain centre.

Look out for your instructor by the seating area next to the WDC Waffle Shop.

Group Lessons will always meet here.
